Learn what to do if your Gaggia Brera is showing a "Ventilate" error but you are still getting flow, and how to troubleshoot the flow meter.
In some situations, you will be able to get flow through the machine for all functions, but the machine thinks there is no water flowing through. This will occur if the flow meter is either scaled, unplugged or has failed.
How it works:
The flow meter is a device that measures how much water is flowing through the system. The device operates by having small fan-like blades spin when water passes through it. If those blades get stuck from excessive scale buildup or debris, then they will not spin. As a result, even though water is flowing through the machine, you will get a flow error.
How to resolve the issue:
- If the flow meter is scaled, it is possible to resolve the issue by running a Descale Cycle on the machine.
- If the flow meter has failed or is unplugged, the machine will need to be opened so you can inspect the wiring and/or replace the flow meter.
Here is a video that shows how to check the wiring. This video will also get you access to the meter for replacement or manual cleaning.
Associated Parts:
Failure of normal wear and tear items such as group gaskets, seals, and shower screens are not covered under warranty. Issues due to scale build-up or lack of maintenance are not covered.
