Replacing the Group Gasket
If you’re having trouble getting a good seal at your group head, or water is leaking when you brew espresso on your Profitec Pro 500 PID, you may need to replace your group gasket. This article offers a step-by-step guide on replacing the group gasket on your espresso machine.
Your group gasket is what creates the seal between your portafilter and your group head. On average, group gaskets should be replaced once a year. Common signs of failure are water leaking around the portafilter while brewing, and being able to easily lock the portafilter way past the middle position while brewing. It is a good idea to replace the group gasket once a year, as the older a gasket gets, the harder it is to remove. The instructions in the attachment below will make replacing your group gasket a breeze. If you are unsure which replacement gasket to buy, please consult a member of our technical support team.
